It is with deepest sorrow that I must let you all know of the passing tonight of a member of our RP community. Though it has been some years since last she walked the lands of Sosaria, I am sure many of us here will still recall Lisha LaBlanch, or have heard her spoken of kindly.
Janice Renee Dowden (Renee), age 46, was killed tonight in an automobile accident while on her way home. She leaves behind a grieving husband, family, and many friends touched by the kindness and compassion of this grand lady.
Many of us in UO will remember her better as co-leader of the Syndicate of Wolves along with Wolverine. She also played a character named Nyssa, but most of us will no doubt recall Lisha.
Her best friend, in UO and out, was Debilynn Hayes, aka Janissan Venroe Durreah. It was Debi who passed this news on to me so that I might share it with others who shared time in game with one of Renee's characters.
I am sure you will all join me in extending our deepest sympathies to Renee's family and friends. Our community is again diminished by the loss, yet we have been enriched to have shared time in this game with her.
May the maker of all things bring peace and solace to all who mourn our friend.

....
I remember her.... I even remember the last time I talked to her. It's been years but...
well since I just sat here staring at my screen for five minutes without knowing what else to say...I guess that says it all..
Gods John...weren't we just talking about something like this happening to one of us the other night...?
Hug Deb for me...*softly*

I'm deeply saddened by this news. I remember her and Wolverine very well. I remember the Fire Rose Saga that was written with Lisha and Janissan quite a few years back. A wonderful story. She will always be remembered fondly. I've had the pleasure of interacting with her in game and a few conversations out of game. This is truly a sad day, and many will mourn her passing.

I have been up most of the night thinking about her and my favorite memory was her and I chasing through the land trying to find just one open piece of land to place a house in for Omen. After getting hit on by the pirates and chased by every sort of beastie we finally found a spot in Yew actually. Her and I laughed for hours. I remember her and Wolverine's wedding ...Please hug Deb for me. The world has lost a great light and she will be missed deeply.

From KY-3 News.
Two area residents were killed in a two-car accident late Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 62 west of Cotter, according to an Arkansas State Police news release. Dead are Jeffrrey Ashton, 19, of Mountain Home and Janice Dowden, 47, of Pyatt. The accident occurred at 5 p.m., when a 1999 Toyota pickup driven by Ashton, crossed the centerline and the westbound lane striking the 2000 Hondo CRV driven by Dowden head-on. Neither vehicle contained passengers.
Traffic on U.S. Highway 62 was detoured to U.S. Highway 62 Business through Cotter for approximately two hours.

I arrived late to Catskills and didn't know Lisha; however Jan has been a friend for sometime and I feel deeply for her loss. Please let her know she's in my thoughts at this time.
