Quick question. I tried to play around on test shard yesterday to learn about the new Town Loyalty system, but couldn't figure out what you needed to do gain these points or check them Looked on UOHall but couldn't find any answers there either.
Was wondering what your experiences have been?

I have seen the chests that contain the ropes that you need to catch the rioters. There are supposed to be fires to be put out and people to catch, but I have not seen either.

Spoiler: Image borrowed from G.v.C on stratics ===== Announcement from Marcus the Guards Captain in Moonglow: Marcus: Be wary, though. Britannians are turning against each other. If you try to lend a hand to everyone, all may end up hating you. Right now, your loyalty means as much as your assistance! Marcus: The citizenry of Britannia are beginning a rebellion, and we must do what we can to maintain order. Marcus: Many of our poorer brothers and sisters are protesting, because they cannot earn a living in these hard times. Gifts of money, food, and clothing would go far to ease their fears. [/i][/ul] Marcus: Some of our citizens have begun to riot. They have crossed the line and are causing destruction! There are too many of them for the city guard to handle. Please, take this rope and use it to arrest the rioters, and return them here. [/i][/ul] Marcus: The rioters are starting fires and leaving trails of destruction behind them. We desperately need your help putting out the fires. Also, cleaning up the garbage would certainly be appreciated. ( To put out a fire or clean up garbage, double-click it.) Marcus: Groups of raiders from other cities have been infiltrating our city and attacking innocent citizens! These vagabonds must be stopped. Use spell and steel, or set your dragons loose on them if need be. Marcus: Slay the raiders if you must. However, you may attempt to subdue and arrest them. If you do so, they must be returned to their home city. Our jails are overflowing! Marcus: Our coffers are empty. The city cannot offer you any reward other than our thanks. Word of your deeds will spread. ( you gain loyalty with the city you are in) ===== RopeCity Loyalty Window:

City Loyalty Ratings ExplainedKai Schober13 Feb 2012 13:15:59 EST For each city, each player character has individual ratings for Love, Hate, and Neutrality. These values are numeric and the raw values are not displayed. A character’s loyalty rating from a city consists of two parts: how well the character is known, and how “pure” the character’s actions are. There are essentially three possible outcomes: Here are all the possible ratings: [/u] Tier 1 Tier 2 Neutral: Negative [/ul] Tier 3 Neutral Negative [/ul] Tier 4 Neutral Negative [/ul][/ul] Notes about the system: ===== Source: www.uoherald.com/node/549

Thanks for the post Sage, very informative Any idea on what these points + or - will translate into the future?
Wondering if there are going to be distinct rewards for Negative town loyalty as well as positive?

its hard to know at this point, but I would assume like most games, each city will have a rewards system that makes things available to players based on your loyalty score. Its also part of this years story arch so events may be loyalty based also.
we can only wait and see!
