Just a question out of curiosity. When was the last time you have sought out other roleplayers on Catskills for any type of interaction? Why do I ask? As far as I can tell, there is absolutely nothing going on in RP. I know we all have our rl to live, but I am just wondering if there is any breath left in the community as a whole? Or are we just too separated and too attached to our own small group to venture out and "breathe some fresh air" so to speak.

I know I have seen a few of "the community" about, however, getting interaction is not always an easy thing to accomplish.

I rarely log in these days, and when I do it is just to check my houses and maybe hunt a bit.

Lets see... that would be mid-July in the week before the kids were born.
Before that... every time I logged in.
After that, twins took priority and my accounts were cancelled.

Your twins will naturally come first. My question was toward those that do play the game on at least a semi-regular basis. [rant] I came back from atl to RP a few months ago just to watch Catskills RP drop to a new low. That isn't what I came back to Cats to see. [/rant]

Did you try Olympus Hunter? I think folks hang around there at times. And what about Pandora's group?
I think I was in the process of leaving UO about the time Aneirin left to tend the crew.

I was in pgoh for a time and had nothing bad fortune there. As for Pandora's group. When I would visit their city,it would be empty. Only time I see them is when they would host the trade event.

May just be a busy time of year for a lot of folks,. Or may be that people are moving on to other things.

There have always been a lot of folk in the rp-ring who I would have to message out of game in order to get to play with them in-game. It wasn't because they were being elitist or anything, but rather because they didn't want to play alone. Near the end, I kind of got that way too. I had no interest in monster bashing, character building, PvP or questing. My entire game was roleplaying, and when I couldn't find people to roleplay with in my usual haunts, I would just log out and wait for someone to need me.
But at the time, I couldn't stay up late for "prime time" and there was very few people who played days. I think I spent most of my time hurling insults with one of Callie's characters or another.
But anyone (literally anyone) who showed up in New Haven would wind up interacting with me in one way or another. If I waited for "oranges" I would have died of boredom years ago.

I could not make the transition from the old RP I was loved, to the newer form of RP. Seeing that I was just becoming increasingly frustrated, I felt it better to play a game I was more involved with folks in at the time.
For me it has never been a matter of being an elitist f any sort, (I RP'd with anyone including the doodish) so much as a realization that my time in UO had passed, and it was time to make room for those that still enjoyed UO and what it had to offer.
Lotro is a different sort of game. There is plenty of RP, and a wonderfully interwoven story to the world. But I have slanted more towards the PVP side of this game. I do miss role play, and have on occasion shared in a bit late at night in the Prancing Pony. But My RP was in UO, and the Aedon of Middle Earth is not the one of Sosaria in many ways.
Hunter and Avalon, I hope you both keep looking for the interaction you seek in UO and if you do not find it, that you make it for yourselves. Many times RP is there. it just needs a little shove to get going.

I'll tell you on my part, I've been working far too many hours to be able to get involved in any kind of serious rp, let alone to be able to log in as often as I'd like. So, for me, I'm not being anti-social, I'm just hella uber busy...and quite frankly, 's much as I love you all...I need to be able to eat and have a place to stay more than I need to play uo. Sorry.

I have been busy finishing college and doing externships. Then there are my 13 yr old and my 2 yr old to keep me busy and looking for a new place to move to. Not to mention all the fun life stuff I have been dealing with, water heater breaking, getting a flat tire, trying to find a job. Haha weee sooo much fun.

Life, don't talk to me about life.
Real life always comes first, it is so good to see so many in this community have their priorities straight.
I think after the auto accident I have been a bit more focused on things then before. Though I am healing well, I am at this time insulin dependent, and am on heart and BP meds. This on top of other fun things my body likes to do to me. Stress is just not something I can handle right now, and as any of you will admit, Catskills RP is rather stressful.
All of you take care of yourselves and your loved ones. I think though that no matter what may come my thoughts will turn often to you all. Some of you I may just skewer in my thoughts, others of you will make me laugh and smile a bit.
If any of you should like to visit me sometime in Middle Earth, Jan and I are on Landroval, as is Aly when she plays. I am easy to find, just look for the good looking Captain with the nervous twitch.

I for one am full time " In character " which means when I wake in the realm, that's my life till I go and rest in my coffin. " I call it Living the realm" , but the past year has slowly declined as far as population, and has added to the lack of r\p . I'm sure we've all seen quiet times in the realm, but never for the length of time we've seen in the past year. Over all I'll be staying in the realm. Although my time awake has been limited, I do make the effort to support Guild events. "Old habits die hard"

I have to agree with Rameses, any lack of rp I've experienced is not due to lack of "RP'ers" its been due to a lack of anyone I can find logged in. Like him I am in character always when I am not secluded away; I still find a person now and then in Britain or New Haven but no where near the people of even six months ago.
I don't think its the community that has fallen off, I think its the game population in general.
