It was a pleasant night in the city of Skara Brae. The winds blew softly out of the southwest, carrying aloft on the sea air the fragrance of the flowers blooming in the mainland. Aedon had just concluded business at the town store, and was headed towards the gate, when he happened across a group of folks enjoying the nights air.
He knew three of those present. Edith Tenpenny, Rotep and Devlin. He had the night before been on the Celtic Tide with them, setting sail to test the movements of the craft. They were in fact a part of the crew Aedon was putting together to work on an adventuring company with Rizzen Vorn.
Edith was an interesting lass. An inventor of sorts, she always seemed to have her hands wrapped tightly around some interesting and odd contraption. The goggles she wore on her head, no matter what other attire she had on, were a wonder to behold. Aedon could not help but wonder what she saw when looking through them.
Devlin was a man of Everthrone, and was present the night of the attack by the Undead. A strong and good man, Aedon wondered what it was which drove him on, following the loss of so many lives in the town he called home.
Rotep, now there is an interesting sort. Aedon was always impressed with the intelligence of this young man. Determined and focused, sometimes, the next moment would find him off on some odd tangent. Mercurial was the word Aedon most often used to describe him.
They spoke for a bit, and then excusing himself, Aedon continued on to the gate, and his home in Aegis. There was still much to do, so many things to make ready for the endeavor head. As he stepped through the gate, and into the Yew woods, Aedon smiled thinking about the light conversations he had in Skara.
There was a different atmosphere to be found in one of the larger Towns. One never knew what may await them around the turn of a corner of the exchange of a greeting. And it was this very change which drew him out of Aegis this night. And he hoped that future trips to the city would offer him more then the mundane life he had come to know. The days ahead of him seemed bright with the promise of adventures to drive the soul. And the prospect of riches beyond his wildest dreams.
