Pandora was once again left to her own devices when it came to donning on a costume for tonight's affair. Marius has never been one for dressing up although he would vote on her costume ideas --- yay or nay. Her first thought was a fairy, Marius voted no. Second she thought she could pull off a werewolf, Marius voted a FIRM no. The idea of his wife in fur did not much appeal to him. Finally, she thought, "Well then, how about a pirate?" Marius sat back on the bed, leaned his back on the old mahony framed headboard, propped up with a few pillows. "Well?" Pandora pressed. "I say "thumbs up" to the pirate, but who would make the costume for you? Jade is away", Marius asked. Pandora had to think on this a bit.
Most of her coven was away this weekend. Jade, Emerald, and Cherry, the sisters, returned to Earth to visit old friends and relatives. Bianca also took a trip back to Earth, to see Armand no doubt. Her loneliness was getting the best of her so Marius thought it would be a good idea. Amroth was far too busy with the trade commission of Umbra; he's still working with Jonas Callahan on the rebuild efforts, plus new trade opportunities needed his attention. Ate and her crew had been hard at work and since they are not as tolerant of the sun, they can only work in the evenings.
Pandora thought of someone; someone she had met at the Black Market. She had to visit Olympus.
Once she arrived, she saw the familiar wings on the back of a very tall creature, a gargoyle. Her name was Ravven. She had mastered the talents of tailoring and was a far above adept seamstress. She trades with Olympus frequently and would often travel from city to city to sell her wares, so Pandora knew her best bet to find her was to visit Olympus. Pandora put her order in for a "pirate's costume" and Ravven agreed to deliver it by tomorrow afternoon. Ravven asked Pandora if there is anything that she would be willing to trade for her services. Pandora gave this some thought, "How about 20 units of magical residue? Would that work?" Ravven thought on this a while, shaking her head no. She already had plenty of magical residue. Pandora told Ravven that most of her tradesmen were away for the weekend, so she wouldn't really know what else was in the inventories for the Lair. Ravven then agreed to just 5,000 gold coins, after failing to arrive at a fair trade. Ravven wondered if anyone would be around to recieve her at the Lair since most of the citizens would be away. Pandora said to knock on the Dark Tower, and that she herself would be there.
The next day, around noon, Ravven knocked on the door and Pandora answered. "You are right on time m'lady", she said as she motioned for her to come in. Ravven smiled and offered Pandora a box, wrapped with twine. Pandora opened the box to see her costume and was immediately delighted. This made Ravven happy, as she takes great pride in her work. "Thank you so much Ravven, I have payment for you", Pandora said as she turned around and started to walk towards her study to retrieve a satchel of gold she had set aside for Ravven.
Finally, the time had come. Pandora donned on her new costume and immediately showed Marius, who was packing yet again to depart on another trip. "Well, lover, what do you think? Do I make a good pirate? Arrrgh!" Pandora said with a big smile. Marius laughed, "Why yes my love, a good pirate indeed... would be better if perhaps you caught a tan, but alas that cannot be helped." Pandora shot him a cold look, "Not nice." And then her eyes softned and her mouth smiled. "You need a scimitar love", Marius told Pandora. "No need for that, I'll bring my trusty lantern", Pandora said. "Well, you have a good time, Dora darling", Marius reached over to kiss his wife. "And you have a good trip, lover." Pandora kissed him back.
That night Pandora headed to the Knight's Rest, with her invitation in hand. She was late, as usual. She just somehow cannot ever get out of the house on time, although she tries. When she entered the room she couldn't help but turn heads, she was late remember? It was also a rarity that Pandora would expose so much skin, being as pale as she is. Folks were sharing thier stories of ghosts and doom, but nothing drew her own stare more than the goblins in attendance...for they were NOT in costume. *stares*
(Here is a screen shot of all those in attendance that had donned on a costume. My apologies if I missed someone, and I hope they add themselves here.)
