Fiona flopped heavily onto her bed. The night had been long and filled with interesting events, two in particular dwelled heavily on her mind.
Rayne, James and herself had been outside and they had been blowing a few odds and ends up. One of the things Rayne and James liked to do, and to be honest, it helped Fiona relieve some stress as well. They had been at it for some time when out of no where, Ix had shown up. Fiona's immediate instinct had been to protect the child. So, she stood her ground firmly and watched Ix quietly, making sure nothing would happen. There was something about Ix, that made Fiona feel a little off around her. Something was not right with that one, she thought to herself.
Rayne had moved in beside James and Fiona had moved to her other side and bent to whisper something to her quietly. Rayne had done what she thought she would, and moved in right behind James. Ix and Fiona had begun to exchange words when Rayne had called out for her father. It was not long after that Beleg appeared, in the middle of the discussion Ix and Fiona had been having. Fiona ended the discussion by saying she felt that Ix was slightly darker than other newer beings she had seen about, and fel the need to protect children. Fiona was simply stating facts, if they hurt Ix, then so be it, though she was not trying to intentionally hurt anyone. Beleg had decided to take Rayne home shortly after, and Ix left not long after that, whispering something to Fiona. who had moved to sit on the ground, thinking a lot of things over.
Later in the evening, Fiona had just returned from running an errand in Skara, when she was checking in on things surrounding the Knight's Rest, she had spoken briefly with Aedon and then let him tend to his meeing with Nick.
She had been sitting in the rest only a few moments when she heard footsteps coming up the stairs and in entered two robed figures and a squirrel character. Fiona thought she had remembered seeing the squirrel before, and then it occured to her she had. She remembered seeing the squirrel in the Guardians tavern when she had ventured there before, and at a previous tavern night as well. There was a voice Fiona determined to be female who started yelling "ooo" and "fire". Then in moments, flames burst to life throughtout the tavern. Fiona wasted no time, not wanting harm to come to herself or the possibility of the fire becoming dangerously out of control she ran to Aedon's house and began to call for him.
She tore through his house trying to locate him to tell him what was happening. She found him several long moments later and, trying to recover her breath explained what was going on. They ran next door to check, and found, luckily, very little damage. Some smoke damage seemed to be the worst of it. Aedon then instructed Fiona to go find Beleg. Fiona nodded and headed for Skara as she heard that was the last place he had said he would be. Something about a meeting.
Fiona tore through her rune book and found the one marked Skara. Anything to save her some time, she was getting tired already of this whole running thing. She ran through Skara and asked a local person she had practically run over if she had seen someone known as Beleg. The person looked perplexed for a moment, Fiona described him and the person gave a grin and nodded, and pointed her in the direction of tavern. Fiona thanked the person kindly and bolted over to the Shattered Skull. She tore open the door and looked about, trying to be able to regain her breath she gasped as she cried out for Beleg. She heard his voice off in a corner and she turned to face tat direction as she said what she needed to.
"Beleg..Aedon..said...to find you and tell you....Fire at...the Rest..."
Beleg rose from where he had been sitting and came to Fiona's side, grasping her hands gently, he helped calm her so he could hear what she said again. She repeated it, and he looked over to Thom and excused himself, and asked if their meeting could be continued sometime later. She thought Thom had accepted because James had then opened a gate and they had gone to the Rest.
Beleg and Aedon had asked if there was anyone familiar to Fiona when it had started, and Fiona was only able to identify the squirrel as a being she had seen with the members of The Purple Guardians. She also mentionned a female voice being heard from one of the robed figures.
"Could you identify the voice if you heard it again?" Aedon asked, studying her from where he stood.
Fiona thought on this a moment and said she could have, so long as the person had not been using a disguise on their voice as they had been with their appearance. During their discussion, Fiona had begun to smell more smoke and so she ran outside, and saw more flames around the base of the building.
Beleg and Aedon were both furious with what had happened and so, Fiona took a moment to let her mother know, via their connection, what had happened. Fiona took a moment and ran to her house to check to make sure no one had chosen to damage it as well and found her mother there, in her shop. Alyssia had checked her over, and then turned and noticed Beleg had appeared. Needless to say, Alyssia Kanath went from having a pleasant expression to being very livid.
Fiona let the two of them talk and returned to the Rest. She found Aedon and a few others outside. She let Aedon know that her mom was at the shop and off he went. The three had decided to take a ride at some point and off they went. Fiona and James took a moment to show the Rest to one of the newer young people who had been standing outside.
About a half hour to an hour later, someone asked about Aedon. Then, not long after, someone else asked to speak with Aedon as well. Fiona, knowing that he, her mother and Beleg had gone riding, said that he had gone hunting and could send a message if needed. And so she did. Not long after, Talmek showed up and asked if Alyssia was about. Fiona sent another message out to her mother, and a few moments later, the three returned to the Rest.
The rest of the night was sort a blur. Fiona was becoming tired quickly, she had done a lot in one evening. She did not trust what was going on in the area and so, when Beleg said he was going home, she asked if he would walk her home. He said he would and then off they went.
