GROSS. I swore they promised it would be based off series that were actually in print. ;_; They already did redemption and bloodlines, they should make a VtR game if they're going to go with vampires. >_> I'm so disappointed though I'll still probably play it anyway.

Well you have a couple of years for a new computer! Save those pennies! 2012 is still a long time. I don't even know what I'll be doing that year. I might not be playing many games at all anymore. D: Silly games and their taking years to make.
I'm not entirely sure if I'm into this now that I know it's Vampires only. I'll wait to make that judgement based on when gameplay videos start coming out. That'll be a while though.

It comes in cycles, vampires are hot now, it will be something else eventually. Everyone wanted to be Nobility 6 years ago, then everyone hated the nobles and wanted to be something else a couple years after that.

I actually find I don't like playing a vampire. But there's always been vampires. It's not that they are hot right now really per se (amg c wut i did thar). It's that there's so many less people playing other types of characters or playing anything at all. When I first started playing, the vampires were large in number, but so were the orcs, nobles, celts, picts, undead, etc.
EDIT: I forgot about something! But thankfully, this was pointed out to me by someone who actually happens to be on at this god forsaken time in the morning. The initial vamp surge happened before the whole twilight fiasco. Though it was back during a time when there were still plenty of other active guilds to interact with.
While I do have Sarain, who is a vamp and is in Undead, I don't intend to really play her..or any character on Cats really. I may pop in from time to time on a character, but it won't be my main shard. Actually, I will probably log on my human when I do log on unless I decide to take part in a plot and it requires a vamp. Although I do have a zombie available for entertainment.
If I'm lucky, The Secret World will come out before WoDO and I can enjoy playing a human and taking down strange looking monsters. *Nod*

I think vampires have always been overdone and always present on the shard but then again they're among the most relatable characters to play and they're multifaceted. The "vampire" can also be a noble, a diplomat, a judge, an artist, a war general, a cultist, or a commoner. Where as if you're an orc you're generally just a snaga, a middle rank, or a wargoth. A secret monster with human qualities and appearances or a tragic hero -- unlike most undead they speak lucidly to the human condition and most vampires, regardless of their clan or society, often times lament their present state and ponder their existence the way humans do and a lot of other 'evil' does not. Obviously they come in waves in pop culture re; anne rice, true blood, twilight; and at the moment they're seeing a resurgence in the media we see today but they've always been the most popular "evil" characters to roleplay.

I was partially joking I know not everyone is a vampire but considering the ratio of players there is a lot. Heck I never heard of White Wolf until starting up on Catskills.
