I still like to see people with tags. I at least want to know what guild I am interacting with. i do my best to not let that affect what my character actually sees. I'm not saying I'm perfect and will make my character act completely oblivious. But I'm certainly not going to go up to an S^S member with a character that has never met any other S^S member and be like "look you're in S^S you must be a vamp!' But I might steer the conversation into topic like fine wine and cold mountains. I'm a pretty bad conversationalist in RL. I usually need a reason to talk with someone and I am very bad at just making up random topic to talk about. So it is something I am very conscious about when I RP that I try to find common aspect between my characters and those they interact with.
Still I understand the temptation for lesser RPers to use that knowledge for their super-smell or telepathy or what have you.
Of course how does one responsibly play a character with Super-smell or telepathy?

*Feels Loved*
I personally have always just tried to party someone and ask before I use any "super" powers.
An example, one time a Mage walked in, whose profile stated there where faint tattoos couldn't be made out truly with the naked eye.
I partied them and just asked "Hey I play Clive sometimes with advanced sight, I was wondering if you would mind him being able to see more of the tattoos then normal people"
He said No he would rather they be more a mystery for his character. SO
I did not just say to hell with it and act like Clive could read them, I just twisted it another direction, Clive was MORE interested that his eyes Couldn't read them.
I know this gives all the power to the person the powers is used on BUT that is the POINT Powers are a fun add on for your character, they should not be a Crutch for your RPing
I say if anyone gets turned down to use a power, just think, there surely are more then just the Super Option that your character could use to advance the scene.
The problem is when people refuse this, and believe that because they added a power to their character they have the RIGHT to use it as they please, when in truth the use of Powers is a PRIVILEGED that should be based on trust between two parties, and never abused.
(got abit off topic sry)

Clive hit the nail on the head, the use of party chat is in my opinion way under used as a tool to foster RP. Its allows for quick ooc detail checking so that RP stays in character, without abuse of ooc information and shows respect between two rp'ers trying to promote a scene.

Indeed Sage. I think that in many cases vital facts are missed if you do not check a tag. For instance, Aedon walks with a limp and speaks with an accent. This can effect the way folks respond to a character and are good to know. If a person is severely disfigured, or blind, that is good to know.
As to using party chat as a tool, I agree that it is underused. Clive has always been one to use as it should be, same with Sage, Amelia and most of the S^S and Freehold I have had contact with.
I think the last tag I read though said Made with Pride in the USA.
